Mandatory Ethnicity and Disability Pay Gap Reporting (Cabinet Office)
June 2025
| The UK government is consulting on mandatory ethnicity and disability pay gap reporting as part of the Equality (Race and Disability) Bill. The consultation was launched by the Office for Equality and Opportunity, the Race Equality Unit, and the Disability Unit in the Cabinet Office. It sought views on how to implement mandatory reporting for large employers (250+ employees), mirroring the existing gender pay gap reporting framework. The aim of reporting would be to increase workplace equality and transparency for ethnic minority and disabled employees. The consultation, which closed on June 10, 2025, asked for feedback on various aspects of reporting, including data collection, analysis, and the potential for public sector reporting requirements. | |
