A letter was sent by MWNUK CEO Baroness Shaista Gohir to the new Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood raising concerns about the government's deafening and dangerous silence on the escalating racism and anti-Muslim hatred. They have not provided reassurance. The letter also makes recommendations to publicly condemn racism and anti-Muslim hatred, reforming hate crime law and making more funding available for safety and reporting of anti-Muslim hatred across the country that also reflects the size and diversity of Muslim communities.
