| The Women's Equality Committee conducted an inquiry into the rights of cohabiting partners. MWNUK responded to this inquiry because many Muslim women (potentially up to 25% (according to our helpline enquiries) are likely to be in affected because they are not in legally recognised marriages i.e. had nikah only in the UK and did not also have a civil marriage. | |
