To celebrate International Women's Day, MWNUK’s Executive Director, Faeeza Vaid, will be chairing an interfaith panel, at a day conference exploring issues of gender equality in faith spaces and the interfaith arena. The conference is open to women and men from all faiths and none, who want to see everyone able to participate fully in faith communities. 

Confirmed speakers include:
  • Faeeza Vaid  - interfaith panel exploring patriarchy, leadership and equality in faith spaces. Panelists include Dr Laura Zahra McDonald, co-founder and director of Connect Justice, speaker and trainer the Rev. Bev Thomas, and Lindsay Simmonds, Scholar in Residence at the Council of Christian and Jews.
  • Joy Warmington from BRAP presenting research into women and equality in the Christian and Muslim traditions
  • Suzanne Vernon-Yorke on women, equality and the interfaith arena.

Go to talk, to listen, to reflect, to respond, to change and to challenge. All are welcome. 

The conference has been planned by a steering group of women from different faith communities and funded by Near Neighbours.
